JAMMU, Dec 2: Jammu East MLA and party chief whip Rajesh Gupta inaugurated the work of Synthetic turf of Basketball court at MA Stadium, here today. The work is estimated to cost Rs 22 lakhs.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that sports is a medium that unites the society, adding that if we have to create a healthy society then our younger generations have to take to sports in a big way.
Mr Gupta on the occasion talked extensively on the benefits of sports to the society at large. He said that we have seen that all those who participate in the sports activities remain away from drugs and other bad influences.
Mr Gupta said that he would provide any kind of assistance that may be required for the development of infrastructure for the sports activities.
He was also accompanied by PWD officials AEE R.K Bhat, Satish Langer, RP Sharma, State Sports Council Joint Secretary, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Ashok Singh.
Aman Sharma, Vikram Handa, VK Sharma, Satpal Sharma, Amarjeet Singh and Devraj, besides BJP leaders Subedar Gurcharan Singh, Raj Kumar Gupta, Anil Gupta, Opinder Singh, Swaran Singh and Naresh Abrol.
