JAMMU, Dec 3: A scalp hunter he certainly is, hungry for runs he simply is and ravenous for success is surely is, but mean he simply is not.
He is Shubham Singh Pundir, a talented middle-order batsman, who emerged third top run getter in the country in the CK Nayudu Under-23 Tournament, being organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The talented south paw amassed a colossal 585 runs from 7 innings at an incredible average of 83.57 runs per innings and an impressive strike rate off 66.67, including a brilliant innings of 194 runs against Goa.
Shubham, who was skipper of J&K State, has now become a top contender for the Indian Under-23 squad for the Asia Cup this season.
For that matter, he deserves a better deal and patronage from the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
If picked for the Indian squad, Shubham will become the first player in the State history to do so in this age category.
He is being tipped as the most talented youngster in the State by cricketing experts.
