Prof Aima, SD Singh flag of coaches for prestigious ‘Leadership Through Sports Prorg’

JAMMU, Oct 20: Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, Prof Ashok Aima and IGP Jammu, Dr SD Singh Jamwal flagged of Coaches from J&K (Jammu Segment) for a week-long Leadership Through Sports Programme, being held at New Delhi from October 22, 2018.
The Programme is an initiative of Central University of Jammu which has through a project in collaboration with University of Ball, USA.
In all, 20 coaches from J&K, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh , half of which are women will be attending the programme.
Ranjeet Kalra, Co-chairman of the Central University of Jammu Sports Advisory Committee while welcoming the guests highlighted the various aims and objectives of the Sports Leadership Program.
Prof Ashok Aima while thanking the University of Ball, Muncie,USA and US State Department hoped that the Programme would be of immense help to the Coaches from J&K and will intimately benefit the players.
Dr SD Singh, IGP Jammu in his address to the participating coaches termed the programme a golden opportunity and said that it would not only enhance their sporting acumen but also give them an opportunity to learn newer skills to train the specially abled players.
He appreciated the efforts of VC CUJ Prof Aims and Co. Chairman Ranjeet Kalra and the CUJ team for taking a lead in Augmenting competitive sports culture in the State.
Aman Sharma, Senior coach and Offical of SAI who has been designated as Leader of the Group also spoke on the occasion and thanked CUJ VC for providing this opportunity to the coaches.
Prof. Ashok Aima during the briefing appreciated the efforts of Prof. Jaya Bhasin and Dr Shahid Mushtaq, Project Coordinators for the International Collaborative Project and thanked for the support extended by the Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council, Department of Youth Services and Sports and Tribal Affairs, J&K Govt for selection of participants.
He also extended thanks to authorities of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi for providing the venue and infrastructural support.
Prof. Aima informed that Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State will to be the chief guest on the accession.
