JAMMU, Jan 17: Annual Sports Meet for the employees posted at NHPC Sewa-II PS, Mashka was inaugurated today by Bikram Singh, Chief Engineer today in the presence of all the project staff and family members.
The chilling climate could hardly dampen the high spirits of female players of Table Tennis & Carrom events. The Volleyball, Badminton, Chess & Tug-of-war championships will also be played during the week.
Bikram Singh while declaring the event open said, “NHPC Ltd puts a lot of premium on the health of its employees and these events that should be played in the right sportsman spirit should encourage each one of us to stay in good shape”.
He further said, “Our country has already become the world’s diabetes & high BP capital. This trend not only needs to be halted but reversed so as to avoid unnecessary loss of men and money.”
“While promoting the positives of health and well being, NHPC Ltd. has made annual complete body health checkups mandatory for all its employees above the age of 40 years,” added Mr Singh.
