Jodhamal students shine in debate

JAMMU, Feb 1: Winning the overall trophy in the 2nd Matushri Inter-School Dogra Law College Debating Contest, the students of Jodhamal Public School, Jammu once again proved their supremacy, here today.
JMPS emerged winner among the 29 participants from 15 elite schools of Jammu. Shivang Puri of Jodhamal claimed first position and was awarded a cash prize of Rs1000 along with a trophy, while Mayank Mahajan of the Jodhamal won the second position in the competition and got a cash prize of Rs700, besides an individual trophy.
The overall Running Trophy also was bagged by Jodhamal Public School and was adjudged the best debating team for outstanding skills.
The students portrayed the correct picture ‘for’ and ‘against’ the Motion- “Prevailing Education Policy in the Schools- Is it Adequate Enough in Personality and Potential Development of the Students”?
Meanwhile, in symposium conducted by Model Academy on the topic-“Can Exuberance of Youth Provide an answer to India’s Political Woes?,” Akansha Sharma of Jodhamal Public School won accolades by winning third position.
Principal, Trilok Singh Bist felicitated Shivang Puri, Mayank Mahajan and Akansha Sharma for this achievement.
