JAMMU, Oct 22: Jammu Vishal Stars and Jammu Rising Stars outplayed rivals and registered berth in the next stage of the Diwali T-20 League for under-15 boys, which got underway at Parade Ground, here today.
In the first match, Jammu Vishal Stars defeated MIER Cricket Academy by 7 wickets. Batting first, MIER Academy scored 103 runs in stipulated 20 overs, Aditya Abrol made 25 runs, while Udhan Partap scored 23 runs and Kapil Kumar chipped in 17 runs.
Aditpal took 3 wickets, Jugjap captured 2 wickets while Adishwer, Ashim and Surya also claimed one wicket each for Jammu Vishal Stars.
In reply, Jammu Vishal Stars achieved the target in 18.2 overs for the loss of three wickets. Akshit was the top scorer with 56 runs and Arya Sachivansh made 20 runs.
For MIER Academy side, Ranbir took 2 wickets and Shahid claimed one wicket.
Akshit was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In the second match, Jammu Rising Stars registered win over Singh Akhnoor Lions by a huge margin of 101 runs.
Batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored a huge total of 170 runs in 20 overs for the loss of three wickets. Kartik played splendid inning of 87 runs, while Kanav made 36 runs and Ayush Andotra chipped in 23 runs.
For Singh Akhnoor Lions side, Nitish took 1 wicket, while other two batsmen got run-out.
In the second inning, Singh Akhnoor Lions failed to chase the target and bundled out for paltry 69 runs in 17.5 overs. Nitish made 14 runs and Srephan scored 13 runs.
For Jammu Rising Stars side, Kartik and Agastaya clinched 3 wickets each, while Abay Tondon and Praful Dhar shared 2 wickets each.
Kartik was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Sanjay Manchanda, Farooq Ahmad and Shugul.
Earlier, SP Headquarters Jammu Ramesh Kotwal inaugurated the tournament in presence of Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Coordinator of the event, Vivek Shekhar SDPO City, Vijay Saberwal, Anand Tripathi, Madan Mohan, Deepak Baba and Sandeep.
While speaking, Ramesh Kotwal said that this event will help the players to participate in forthcoming national matches.
The tournament in which 4 teams which includes Jammu Rising Stars, Jammu Vishal Stars, MIER Cricket Academy and Singh Akhnoor lions are participating has been being organized by Vishal Club Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Police.
The Organizing Committee Members includes Hilal Rather, Rajesh Gill, Vivek Shekhar, Vinay Gupta, Vivek Sharma, Anand Tripathi, Vijay Saberwal, Sudhir Singh, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Madan Mohan, Deepak Baba, Rajesh Dhar and RP Singh.
In tomorrow fixture, Jammu Vishal Stars will take on Singh Akhnoor Lions and Jammu Rising Stars will lock horns with MIER Academy.
