SRINAGAR, Oct 14: Three days 5th J&K State Handball Championship commenced at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, here in both men and women sections.
The championship is being organized by Ashwani Kumar Raina, General Secretary J&K Handball Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council.
On the occasion, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, Secretary J&K State Sports Council Jammu was the chief guest, who inaugurated the State Championship.
A total of 15 teams from different districts are participating in the championship.
The first match in women section was played between District Srinagar and District Udhampur, in which District Udhampur emerged winner by 8-0 goals. Vidhushi was the main scorer with 3 goals.
The match in men section was played between District Pulwama and District Anantnag, in which District Pulwama registered win by 17-6 goals.
The match in women section was played between District Jammu and District Bandipora, in which District Jammu emerged winner by 17-2 goals.
The matches were officiated by Vinay, Anil Dogra, Megha, Poonam Rajput, Ravi and Rohit.
