GDC Bishnah holds Prize Distribution Function

BISHNAH, Apr 25: Tawishi Eco Club of Government Degree College (GDC), Bishnah organized a Prize Distribution Function on the theme “Biodiversity Conservation” under the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India, Project National Environment Awareness Campaign 2012-13 in collaboration with WWF, here today. MLA Bishnah, Ashwani Kumar Sharma was the chief guest and Dr CM Seth, Chairman WWF J&K State was the guest of honour.
Proceedings of the programme were initiated by Dr Seema Jamwal, who read the report of the activities under NEAC 2012-13 under the guidance of Prof Hardeep Kour, Dean Students’ Welfare.
A Seed Bank of indigenous seeds made by members of Tawishi Eco Club under the guidance of Dr Alka Sharma and under the Convenership of Dr Vijay Sharma was also inaugurated by the MLA.
Earlier, Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the College presented bouquets to the guests followed by lighting the traditional lamp. Hundred and fifty students attended the function.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of different activities.
In Poster Making Contest, Monika Kaith and Pooja of BA Part-I bagged first two places respectively, while Amarjeet Kour of BA Part-II secured the third position. THE consolation prize went to Narender Sharma of BA Part-II.
In Symposium, Pooja of BA Part-I secured first, Manju of BA Part-II bagged second, while Seema Mottan and Bharti Sharma of BA Part-II shared third position. The consolation prize was won by Shilpa Charak of BA Part-III.
Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal, Dr. CM Seth, Prof Sunita Gupta, Shallu Pathania, Bandhu Sharma and Ashwani Raini were present on the occasion, the vote of thanks was presented by Mohd Naseer.
