RAMBAN, Mar 27: Range level Sports festival 2016-17 was organized by District Police Ramban on behalf of Range Police Hqrs, Batote, under civic Action Programme (CAP) at DPL Ramban.
As many as 40 players form District Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar participated in different games viz. Kho-Kho (Boys), Volley ball, Short Put, Javelin Throw and Disc Throw.
Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mohammad Aijaz, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were SSP Ramban Mohan Lal, Garewal, Asstt. CO- 160 BN (Coy-D), Suresh Kumar DY. SP Hqrs Ramban Imtiaz Ahmed, and Dy.SP Dar Rakesh Kumar Gupta DPL besides District officers & prominent citizens.
Speaking on the occasion DC advised youths to take part in sports activities besides focusing on curricular activities for their overall development and successful career.
Large number of people thronged the occasion to witness the matches.
At the closing ceremony of sports festival, chief guest (DC) and SSP Ramban distributed the trophies and medals among the winner and also sports kits were distributed among the finalist.
Team Ramban won the Volley ball match by defeating team Doda, Team Doda defeated Ramban in Kho-Kho (Boys) by the margin of 25/11 and 25/21 in Final. Besides, Pardeep Rathor of Kishtwar District, Mehfooz Ahmed of Ramban and Shahbaz of Doda District remained on 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in Javelin throw. In short put event Mehfooz Ahmed of Ramban, Tabish Ahmed of Doda and Aditya Veer of Kishtwar remained on 1st, 2nd and 3rd position. Similarly, in Disc throw Mehfooz Ahmed of Ramban, Ritish Sharma of Kishtwar and Tabish of Doda remained on 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
