KISHTWAR, Mar 16: Range Level Police Sports Festival was organised by District Police Kishtwar on behalf of Range Police Hqrs, Batote, under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Chowgan Ground, here.
About 80 players from District Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar participated in different games viz. Kho-Kho (Girls), Football and Athletics (100, 200, 1500 mtrs).
Ghulam Nabi Balwan, District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Others dignitaries present on the occasion were Col. Manish Gupta Dy. CO 09 Sector RR, Col. Hari Krishnan CO 17 RR, Deewan Chand, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, District Officers/other Army officers & prominent citizens.
Large number of people thronged the occasion to witness the matches.
At the Closing ceremony of the Sports festival, Chief Guest Sh. Ghulam Nabi Balwan, Dy. Commissioner Kishtwar distributed the Trophies/Medals among the winners and also Sport Kits were distributed among the finalists.
Team Kishtwar won the Football by defeating team Ramban, Team Ramban in Kho-Kho (Girls) defeated team Doda.
District Kishtwar dominated the race of all categories in which 100 Mtrs Race was won by Faizan Ashraf Mir, 200 Mtrs by Tanveer Ahmed, 1500 Mtrs by Sanjeet Kumar & 100 Mtrs (Girls) by Supriya all from District Kishtwar.
