District Level Kho-Kho Championship concludes

KATHUA, Sept 29: Junior boys team of Shivalik Bal Niketan emerged winner, while KPS Barnoti remained runners-up in the two days District Level Kho-Kho Championship 2017 of Kathua District for Senior and Junior (Boys /Girls), organized by J&K State Kho-Kho Association and J&K State Sports Council at KPS Barnoti Playground, here.
In Junior Girls category, Shivalik Bal Niketan bagged the title, while KPS Barnoti was the runners-up team.
In Senior category of Girls, GCW Kathua was the winner, while GDC Kathua remained runners-up. And in Senior Boys category, the winning team was GDC Kathua and runners-up team was Shivalik Bal Niketan.
The main purpose of such events is to encourage more student participation in sports and physical activities.
Rajinder Singh Babbi Member J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest, while Bhupinder Singh Teerthi, Member Body Building Association J&K State and President J&K  Kho- Kho Association. Nirmaljit Singh Amn, District President Kathua Kho-Kho Association and Chairman Kartar Public School, Barnoti was also present on the occasion.
Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of J&K Academy of Art and Language and Mamta Agarwal, Principal KPS Barnoti were the special guests.
The Championship was organized by Arun Sharma, Organizing Secretary Kathua Kho-Kho Association. The Referees were Ambica Jasrotia, Bhanupriya, Pushp Thakur, Jyoti Devi and Captain JP Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Rajinder Singh Babbi said that the event was organized to identify the sporting talent in the Kathua District.
