Distinguished Lecture held at MIET

JAMMU, Feb 21: A Distinguished Lecture was organized at the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Jammu wherein Professor SS Pathak, an eminent professor from IIT Kharagpur was the resource person.
Prof Pathak has experience of over 33 years in academics and has been visiting professor at various Universities in USA for a couple of years.
Earlier, Maj Gen SK Sharma, AVSM, Director Academics MIET presented welcome address.
Prof Pathak spoke at length on the need for multi-disciplinary projects to be undertaken by the engineering students.
He said the students must spend time to understand the basic principles of engineering and then go in for the projects aimed at solving societal problems.
He also spoke on the qualities needed by the students of engineering colleges to be at par with IITians or students of developed countries.
He said self imposed discipline while undergoing studies is the key to rise higher in life.
Students showed a great interest in his presentation.
Prof Pathak appreciated the efforts of Jamini Sharma, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at MIET and his team for their coordination.
Meena Kohli from ECE Department presented a formal vote of thanks.
