JAMMU, Sept 11: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Talwara with an endeavour to promote village level sports and games is conducting an Inter Village Kho-Kho Competition for the youth.
More than 80 students from the villages of Chaladh, Kunalagala, Shikari, Barakh and Talwara are participating in this week-long competition.
The enthusiasm and talent of the students was witnessed by a large group of spectators including Sarpanches, village elders and officials from the Army and civil administration.
The event is aimed at identifying talent and promotes sportsmanship amongst the youth.
Army has assured continued support on such goodwill projects. The conduct of such sports event is virtually a crowd puller and would strengthen the adventurous streak in the local youth of the region.
To promote the adage “Healthy Mind in Healthy Body”, such sports activities in remote areas facilitate the youth in being physically fit, develop strong bonds of solidarity and act as a great motivating force, inculcating true sportsman spirit.
