JAMMU, Dec 4: APS Akhnoor celebrated its annual day and prize distribution function at Sangha Auditorium, Akhnoor today.
The chief guest on this occasion was Major General MK Mago, Patron APS Akhnoor, while Chairman Brigadier Gautam Segan and Principal of the school KCS Mehta were also present. The function began with lighting of lamp by the chief guest followed by welcome song and Shri Ganesh Vandana.
The annual school report was presented by the Principal KCS Mehta, in which he highlighted the various achievements of the school in different fields and also presented futuristic planning of the school.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students on the theme “Festivals”.
The prizes were given by chief guest to students who excelled in curricular and co-curricular activities. Cash awards were given to Prajwal Bral, Mohit Gupta, Milan Sharma, Nidhi Sharma, Vivek Sharma, Suneha Devi, Ashwani Ganesh, Priyanka Devi, Bharti Sharma, Saloni Shamra, Simran, Ratul Dhiman, Riya Guta, Monika Bhau and Bhanu Partap for their excellence in CBSE Class XII results 2017. Best sports person among boys and girls was given to Shobnam Bhardwaj and Kanika Rajput. Other students awarded included Suraj Bartwal, Akanksha Devidas (Best NCC Cadets), Chhavi Sharma (J&K Fencing Championship 2017), Areesha (Best Speaker), Mansi Tiwari, Karan Yadav, Ankit Kumar (Gold Medalist in Sahodaya Athletic Meet 2017). Professional awards were given to Talitha Philip, Psychologist, Joginder Paul, Musician and Faqir Chand, Office Attendant.
Major General MK Mago, Patron APS Akhnoor inaugurated the annual edition of school magazine “Disha”. He advised teachers and students to work hard for forth coming annual exams.
