Ansari directs for early completion of Indoor stadium & pavilion at KK Hakhu Astroturf

*Pays surprise visit to various offices, stadia

JAMMU, Apr 20: Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Technical Education and Information Technology, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari today paid a surprise visit to K K Hakhu Astroturf Stadium and MA Stadium to take stock of infrastructural facilities and sports activities underway.
During his visit to MA Stadium the minister inspected various sports sections and directed the concerned to improve the lighting system and install water purifier and music system for gymnastic players. He further directed for starting a cleanliness drive in the stadium premises for ensuring hygienic environment to the players.
While inspecting Basketball stadium, the Minister asked for installation of four flood lights so that players can practice till late hours in the evening
At K K Hakhu Astroturf, the Minister held interaction with the team which will participate in the junior National Hockey championship and inquired about the facilities being provided to them. He asked the players to put in dedicated efforts to achieve success and bring laurels for the state.
Later the Minister also conducted surprise visit to offices of the Directorate General of Youth Services & Sports and J&K State Sports Council and reviewed functioning of various units including Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan section. He asked the officers to work with utmost dedication to provide conducive environment to the players.
He also convened a meeting wherein Director General Sports, Jahangir Mir apprised the Minister about the functioning of the department. Secretary Sports Council, Javaid Ahmad Shah, Vice Chairman Sports Council, Jammu, Ranjeet Kalra, Joint Secretary State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma and other officers were also present in the meeting
The Minister asked Secretary Sports Council for ensuring speedy completion of new Indoor stadium which is being constructed at an cost of Rs 7 Crore and gave a 4 months deadline for the completion of the stadium.
Ansari directed for completing renovation of pavilion and parking of K K Hakhu stadium within 2 months besides installation of chairs in the pavilion instead of tiles .He also directed for immediate installation of water gun in the Astroturf field of the stadium to facilitate the players.
