JAMMU, Dec 7: Arsh Cricket Club (ACC) and Road & Safety Department XI registered wins over their rivals in the ongoing 5th Christmas T20 Cricket Tournament, being jointly organized by Christian Sports Organization Jammu and Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu supported by Diocese of J&K.
Earlier, in the first match, Arsh Cricket Club defeated Mandaal Cricket Club by 14 runs. Batting first, Arsh XI scored 184 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Paras Sharma (45), Surya (36) and Vishavajeet (33) were the main contributors.
Aqib and Sampark took 2 wickets each, while Ajay claimed 1 wicket. In reply, Mandaal Club managed to score 170 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 14 runs. Subrat top scored with 72 runs, while Rakesh and Robin chipped in with 19 and 14 runs respectively. From bowling side, Rohan Koul and Soumay Jain took 2 wickets each, while Vishvajeet and Amaritpal claimed 1 wicket each. Vishvajeet was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, Road Safety XI defeated Game Changer XI by 93 runs. Batting first, Road safety XI scored 162 runs for 7 wickets with Umar Alam 62 runs, Arvind 34 runs, and Pankaj 22 runs. From bowling Side, KK took 3 wickets, while Ankush, Asif and Sarvesh claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Game Changer XI managed to score 69 runs in 15.1 overs with Ankush (17) and Vikrant (12) being the main scorers. From bowling side Waseem Raza took 5 wickets, while Mehjoor Ali bagged 2 wickets. RK Bhat and Arvind shared 1 wicket each.
Waseem Raza was declared as man of the match.
