3 national records created in Senior National Aquatic Ch’ships

Ranchi, Sep 26: Three national records were smashed on the third day of 70th Senior National Aquatic Championships here today.

     The first record was broken in 200m women’s freestyle category by Olympian Shivani Kataria in record time of 02:06.97 sec.

     The silver medal was won by Maharashtra’s Aditi Dhumatkar in 02:08.09 secs and Damania K Gowda won the bronze in 02:09.94 secs for Karnataka.

     The second record was created by Arvind Mani of Karnataka in 200m men’s backstroke in record time of 02:05.46 sec. Madhu P S of Services won the silver in 02:07.02 sec and Hari N of Karnataka won the bronze in 02:07.13 sec.

     Olympic Sajan Prakash of Railway’s continued his winning spree by creating yet another national record in men’s 100m butterfly in a time of 00:54.43 secs. Supriyo Mondal of Railways won the silver in 00:55.19 sec and the bronze went to Ghai Aman of Punjab in 00:56.38 sec. (PTI)
