KATHUA, Mar 15: In light of MHA, Government of India directive and Police Headquarter directions, 1st Inter-state Police meet was organized at District Police Line, here.
The Meet included joint law and order drills, cordon and search operations, cordon and destroy operations and sports events including Volleyball and Kabbadi.
The objective of this meet was to increase/strengthen coordination between J&K Police and Punjab Police for dealing effectively with law & order, prevention and detection of crime/ cases which have interstate ramifications particularly terrorism and menace of drugs.
In sports events, J&K Police team emerged as winner in Volleyball, beating CRPF 121 Battalion which remained as runners-up and in Kabbadi J&K Police team emerged winner and CRPF 121 Battalion remained as runner-up.
All the events were coordinated and organized by Nodal Officer,Khalil Poswal, Additional SP Kathua and the chief guest on the occasion was Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua.
All the participants and winners were presented trophies during the concluding function.
The Officers of Punjab Police appreciated the role and effective participation of Jawans of J&K Police in the event.
