JAMMU, Feb 18: Yudhamanyu’s unbeaten 71 and equal contribution from young Talha helped KC Sports Club to beat Cosmo Cricket Club by 6 wickets in the ongoing Chief Minister’s Cricket Cup, being organized by Country Cricket Academy in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council at Gharota, near here.
The Championship is being organized in the memory of former Chief Minster, late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed by Director Country Cricket Academy, Vikrant Sharma and its Managing Director, Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy player.
Earlier, batting first, Cosmo Cricket Club scored a decent total of 221 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Muzzafar, Yasir and Shoaib were the main contributors with 43, 38 and 25 runs respectively. For KC Sports Club, Yudhveer took 3 important wickets, while Kaif bagged 2 and Uttraksh claimed one wicket.
In reply, KC Sports Club rode on brilliant knocks of 71 runs each by Yudhamanyu and Talha chased the target in 40.1 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Ridham (15), Kaif (11) and Zamin (9) were the other contributors. For Cosmo Cricket Club, Shakil took 3 wickets, while Shoaib claimed one. Yudhamanyu was declared man of the match for his magnificent innings.
