JAMMU, Nov 1: Outplaying Sainik Colony by two goals to one (2-10 in the summit clash, Young Rovers Football Club lifted the title trophy of the Senior Division Football Tournament at GGM Science College Football ground, here today.
For Young Rovers, Rahul Sharma scored the first goal in 17th minute of the match, while Arun the netted the second goal in 22nd minute. For Sainik Colony, Dharam Pal Singh was the goal scorer in 45th minute of the match through penalty.
Yellow card was shown to the Mukesh and Rahul of Young Rovers in 43rd and 45th minutes respectively, while from Sainik Colony, yellow card was shown to the Dharam Pal Singh in 45th minute.
Avinash Kumar of Young Rovers was declared best scorer of the League, while Tushar Heer of Jammu United Club and Gulshan Kumar of Lone Star Football Club were adjudged best goal keeper and upcoming player of the League.
The match was officiated by Suresh Kumar Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Moon Stephen and Rooney Yallop.
Shakoor Ahmed Wani, DIG Jammu was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Sukhdev Singh Chouhan (SP City), Karan Chalotra (SHO) and Vijay Kumar (SI) were present on the occasion.
R K Kholi was the chairman of the League, while Narinder Guptas was the organizing secretary.
