Young Heroes register 3-1 victory over Akhnoor Tigers in inaugural tie

*Param FC to clash with Heroes club today

JAMMU, Mar 30: Young Heroes Football Club registered 3-1 goals victory over Akhnoor Tigers in the inaugural tie of the 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, being organised by Young Heroes Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College football ground today.
In the first half of the inaugural match, Vishal Sharma of Young Heroes Football Club netted the goal in the 9th minute and raised the scorecard with 1-0 goal.
The game was going well, when Vivaswan Sawhney of Young Heroes Football Club netted the goal in the 28th minute and brought the opponent Akhnoor Tigers team under extreme pressure of 2-0 goals.
The yellow card was shown to Anwar of Akhnoor Tigers in the 32nd minute of the first half.
The players of Akhnoor Tigers tried their level best to equalize the goal but failed and the first half ended with 2-0 goals.
In the second half, Sandy of Akhnoor Tigers scored the goal in the 55th minute and brought some relief for the team mates.
In the very next minute of the third goal of the match, Atul Bandral of Akhnoor Tigers was shown yellow card.
Vishal Heer of Young Heroes Football Club proved his mettle and netted the goal in the 57th minute.
In the remaining 13 minutes game, the footballers of Akhnoor Tigers strived hard to win the match but failed and paved way for Young Heroes Football Club to enter next round of the tournament.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Zameer Thakur, president, J&K Football Association in presence of Surinder Singh Bunty, Vice President Jammu Zone, Kuldeep Singh, President JKFA Jammu District, SM Gill, Ex-MLC, Fayaz Sofi, David Burrat, Abdul Majeed Kakroo, Yousuf Don, Harbans Lal, Om Parkash, Amar Deep, Satpal Kalsi, Abdul Gani Khan, Charan Dass, David Masih, Rajesh Sumbria, etc.
The match was officiated by Tanpreet Singh Bagga, Rakesh Kumar, Ricky Kumar and Harmenjeet Singh.
In tomorrow fixture, Param Football Club will clash with Heroes Club at same venue.
