JAMMU, Dec 8: Vijay Club defeated Sainik Colony by 6 goals to 5 in a tie breaker, while Young Rovers got better of Christian United by 4 goals to 1 in the ongoing 15th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, organized by All J&K Sports and Cultural Welfare Association at GGM Science College Ground, here today.
The today’s first match was played between Sainik Colony FC and Vijay Club which was won by Vijay Club by 6-5 goals in tie breaker wherein Karan and Brij secured one goal each in the 20th and 27th minute of game for Sainik Colony, while Rizwan and Dushant netted one goal each in the 35th and 40th minutes for Vijay Club.
In the second match, Nainjot Singh secured first goal in 32nd minutes of the game for Young Rovers, while Amanjot, Vinash and Sahil netted the each goal in the 43rd, 45th and 62nd minute respectively for the winning team, whereas Aditya Gill was the lone player who netted one goal for Christian United in 55th minute of the game.
Ishfaq, P.P Canal Incharge was the chief guest of the event, while other prominent Narinder Gupta (Member Sports Council), David Masih, Yousuf Don, Charan Dass, Peter, Moon Stephen, Romesh Chander, Chetan Sharma (Chartered Accountant), Ashok Kumar and Bikramjeet Singh were present during the event.
Rahul Sharma, Dheeraj Meenia, Abhishek, Aman Sudan, Romesh Sethi, Dil Bahadur, Aman Banathia and Madhav were among the referees who officiated today’s matches.
Param FC will lock horns with SFA, while Young Hero’s will face Kathua FC at the same venue, tomorrow.
