JAMMU, Dec 20: Vijay Club scripted a victory via tie-breaker to enter into the finals of the ongoing 5th Christmas Soccer Championship which is being organized by Christian Sports Organization in collaboration with J&K Football Association and J&K Police Department at Parade ground, here.
The objective of the Championship is to help youth not to take drugs and live a healthy life. The slogan of the Championship is ” Be Healthy- Don’t Do Drugs”.
In today’s second semifinal match. Dr Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu was the chief guest, while Ramesh Kotwal, SP Headquarter and Vikrant Sharma CPO DPO were the guests of honour.
They were introduced with the participating teams in presence of Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Asif Gill, Yousaf Don, Mohan Lal, Inspector Ranjeet Singh, Coach Satpat Singh, RP Singh and Sunny Gill.
While speaking on the occasion SSP Jammu said that it is always a delight to watch exciting contests, especially in semifinals or finals. He congratulated the Vijay Club for winning the semifinal match and entering into the finals. He also appreciated the Christian Sports Organization for organizing 5th Soccer Championship on the occasion of Christmas and inviting teams from Valley also in this event.
Earlier, Vijay Club won the match against Young Rovers via tie-breaker by five goals to four (5-4). From Vijay Club, Vishal, Kannav, Sahil, Parveen and Mohit Verma cleared the goals through plenty-shoots, while whereas from Young Rovers FC, Basit, Rahul, Rakul and Chandan scored the goals.
The main Sponsors of the championship are Federal Bank, South Indian Bank and Canara Bank whereas the Co-Sponsors include M/S Try Me Readymade Garments, Pritam Advertisers, Punjabi Brothers and Honor powered by Huawei .
The Organizing secretaries of the Championship are Asif Gill, David Mattoo and Yousuf Don whereas Rajesh Gill is the Coordinator of the Championship.
The officiating members of the today’s matches were Vijay Kumar, Ricky Kumar, Dheeraj and Suresh Gupta.
Vijay Club will take on Param FC in the finals tomorrow.
