26th J&K State Billiards & Snooker C’ship concludes
*Winners, runner-ups awarded with trophies, certificates

JAMMU, Dec 18: Vidit Gawri outplayed Abhishek Pathania and lifted the title trophy of the Six Red Ball event, organized during the 26th J&K State Billiards and Snooker Championship by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the final match of the Six Red Ball event, Vidit Gawri beat Abhishek Pathania by 5-2 frames.
In the first frame, Vidit registered win by 30-11 points against Abhishek and continued the winning spree in the second and third frames also by 31-14 and 49-9 points respectively.
In the fourth frame, Vidit registered win by 38-17 points. In the fifth frame, Abhishek registered win by 38-35 and also won the sixth frame by 31-29 points. In the seventh frame, Vidit registered win over Abhishek by 54-22 points and lifted the Six Red Ball title.
On the valedictory function, Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Secretary, J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest, while Abdul Qayoom, Chief Sports Officer was the guest of honour. Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer J&K State Sports Council Jammu, Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Complex MA Stadium and Ashok Singh, Manager, KK Hakku Stadium were also present.
JKBSA Chairman Siddarth Sharma, President Sanjéev Gupta, General Secretary Vishal Abrol, Senior Vice President, Jaideep Manocha, Vice President Jammu Nikhil Kapahi, Vice President Kashmir Umer Himayun, Treasurer Suhail Khalid, Organizing Secretary lshuk Chaudhary and members JKBSA Gurjeev Singh, Ishan Chaudhary, Abhinav Anand and Harpreet Oberoi also attended the valedictory function.
On the occasion, winners and runner-ups in Sub Junior Billiards, Sub Junior Snooker, Junior Snooker, Junior Billiards, Senior Snooker, Senior Billiard and Six Red Ball were awarded with medals and certificates.
In Sub Junior Snooker, Ansh Chopra emerged winner, whereas Umar-ul-Islam clinched runner-up title and in Sub Junior Billiards, Ansh Chopra emerged winner and Saksham Mahajan bagged runner-up position.
In Junior Snooker, Arjun Singh lifted title trophy, whereas Aman Choudhary bagged runner-up position and in Junior Billiards, Aman Choudhary emerged winner and Vasu Dev Gupta secured runner-up position.
In Senior Snooker, Younis Kuchey clinched winner trophy, whereas Wasim Iqbal bagged runner-up rank and in Senior Billiards, Sohail Khalid emerged winner and Nikhil Kapahi secured runner-up position.
In Six Red Ball, Vidit Gawri emerged winner, while Abhishek Pathania secured runner-up position.
While speaking, JKBSA members expressed gratitude to J&K State Sports Council for providing all logistic support for successful completion of this championship.
During the championship, all the matches were officiated by Rakesh Sharma, Marker, who was engaged by J&K State Sports Council to conduct the Championship.
