UCC Udhampur outplays Domana CC in low scoring match

JAMMU, Mar 6: UCC Udhampur registered a narrow 3-wkt win over Domana Cricket Club in a low scoring match of the ongoing 1st State Level 50-Over Cricket Tournament for Chief Minister’s Cup, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council in collaboration with Country Cricket Academy at Gharota, near here.
The Tournament is being played in the memory of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, former Chief Minister, under the supervision of Vikrant Sharma, Director Country Cricket Academy.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Domana Cricket Club collapsed at a paltry total of 70 runs. Yogesh Sikka was the top scorer with 36 runs, while no other batsman could cross the double figure mark. Ritvik was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets for UCC Udhampur.
In reply, UCC Udhampur chased the target in 23 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus won the match in a close contest by 3 wickets. Gaurav Khajuria was the top scorer with 22 runs. Yogesh Sikka took 3 wickets, while Sant Baksh and Tayyab claimed 2 wickets each. Ritvik was adjudged as man of the match.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Simula Cricket Club will take on KC Sports Club at 9 am.
