Two-day Intra-College Sports Meet begins at GCET

JAMMU, May 25: Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Jammu today organized two-day Intra-College Sports Meet to make the students more fit both mentally and physically to achieve their goals.
The Event was held under the patronage of College Principal Prof (Dr) Sameru Sharma. While inaugurating the sports meet, she apprised the students about the importance of sports in our daily lives. She said that sports can help us to build our character and can teach us to be more disciplined, more responsible and more dedicated as you interact with your opponents as well as the teammates.
Both indoor and outdoor games like cricket, volley ball, badminton, chess, carrom board and table tennis were played during the Sports Meet. More than 150 students actively participated in the different games on the first day of the Meet. The first day of the Meet started with indoor games like carrom, chess and table tennis in the morning followed by outdoor games like cricket, badminton and volleyball in the afternoon.
The event was coordinated by the Physical Director and conveners of different committees. The staff members who were present during the Meet included Sohan Lal (Registrar GCET), Prof Subash Dubey, Prof Sumeer Khajuria, Prof Baldev Raj, Prof Shammi Kumar, Dr Raman Gupta, Balbir Singh (PTI), Dr Heera Saini, Dr Rajinder Singh, Prof Altaf Ahmed, Surinder Salathia, Surjeet Ranyal, Atit Sharma and Sudershan Kumar.
