Thati Tigers lifts Raghubir Memorial Tournament title

JAMMU, July 11: Thati Tigers lifted the First Raghubir Memorial Knockout Cricket Tournament title by defeating Ajay Digra Cricket Club, organised by Pinto Chib at Lower Jandial, here today.
About 16 teams participated in the championship from the nearby areas. The final match was played between Thati Tigers Cricket Club and Ajay Dogra Cricket Club (ADCC). ADCC won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Batting first, Thati Tigers managed to score 124 by losing 6 wickets in 12 overs which was not chased by the ADCC and bundled out at 58 runs.
Rajinder Sharma was declared as man of the match, whereas Sandeep Kumar was adjudged as man of the series.
Atul Sudan, AAP youth leader and Anjali Sharma, Sarpanch Lower Jandial were the chief guests, while Romi Khajuria was the guest of honour. They awarded winners, runner-ups, man of the match and man of the series.
Anjali Sharma congratulated all the players of the finals and appreciated Pinto Chib for organizing the successful event. She said these kinds of events will keep youth away from the drug menace. She encouraged youth to make games and sports a regular part of their daily life. She said games and sports teach us a lot of qualities including leadership, team spirit etc.
Atul Sudan also congratulated the winning and runner ups teams. He said that sports activities have a significant impact on the social and mental development of youth adding that games inculcate leadership qualities and imbibe the spirit of discipline.
He said that rural areas still lack basic infrastructure for sports which should be addressed by the UT Administration.
