JAMMU, July 11: Achintya Khajuria slammed a magnificent century, while Udhay Pratap Singh took a 5-wicket haul and Rhytham Sharma scored unbeaten 71 runs in the ongoing Under-19 Men’s Multi-Day Cricket Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at four different venues across the Union Territory.
Today, the matches were played at two venues in Jammu province only, while the matches in Kashmir province will be held tomorrow.
At Country Cricket Stadium Jammu, winning the toss and batting first, JKCA Team A2 rode on a brilliant century by promising batsman Achintya Khajuria and scored 252 runs in 70.3 overs in their first innings. Achintya scored splendid 122 runs off 120 balls, while Shourya Manhas contributed valuable 47 runs off 90 balls and Divyansh made 21 runs. For A4, Mohd Imran and Krishaang Brahmin took 3 wickets each, while Laith August bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, JKCA A4 were 59/2 in 17 overs at stumps on day-1 today. Arnav Gupta was unbeaten on 17 runs, while Dhaman Preet also scored 17 runs. Rahul Kumar was another batsman unbeaten on 6 runs. For JKCA A2, Aman Singh took 2 wickets.
At Jammu University ground, JKCA A3 bundled out for paltry 117 runs in 40.1 overs in their first innings. Akshit Gandral scored 24 runs, Mohd Naved and Aditya Abrol contributed 16 runs each. For A1, Udhay Pratap Singh was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 important wickets by conceding 24 runs, while Shub Badyal bagged 2 wickets and Bhumesh claimed one wicket.
In reply, JKCA A1 were 171/5 in 47 overs in their first innings. Rhytham Sharma top scored with unbeaten 71 runs, while Ateek ur Rehman contributed 26 runs and Shub Badyal chipped in with 16 runs.
For JKCA A3, Bismadh Singh took 2 wickets, while Mashooq claimed one wicket.
The matches were officiated by Deepak Gupta, Vikram Dogra, Girdhari Lal and Dayal Singh as umpires, while Ashok Singh and Heena Mehra were the scorers.
