Kabir lifts ‘Sernu Dangal’ trophy

BANI, July 11: Kabir from Lohi Malhar lifted the Sernu Dangal trophy by defeating Bawa of Himachal Pradesh in a tough bout, here today.
Dr Rameshwar Singh, ZMO Koti Chandyar was the chief guest of the function who presented the trophy of the tournament to the winner.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sernu Dangal (Shinj) Mela is very historical and famous in this hilly region and the people of the region consider this tournament an important event that creates a lively hustling and bustling environment in the region and a rich source of entertainment for the people.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the ‘Dangal Organizing Committee’ including president Bindra Ban, vice president Bina Amin and other members including Gansham, Rajinder, Angrez Singh, Des Raj, Ghulam Rasool Master, Darmej Chowkidar Gulam Nabi, Dev Raj, Matlabi Ram and Sharm Singh for organising the event.
Dr Rameshwar also appreciated the role of Sarpanch Bindra Ban in construction of Dangal ground. He said that developing sports culture among the young minds is necessary for the overall development of one’s personality. Asserting that sports hold the key to a healthy body and a healthy mind, Dr Rameshwar urged the youth to make sports an inseparable part of their daily routine in life.
