REASI, July 11: Wrestler Babba of Akhara Domana lifted 40th Sai Lanjan Kesari Dangal title by defeating Manjit of Delhi, held at Government Girls High School Sai Lanjan, here today.
The event was organized by Sai Lanjan Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of veteran wrestlers and wrestling promoters Joginder Singh, Ravinder Singh and Vidhman Singh.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prizes to the winners and runner-ups in presence of guests of honour including retired ZEO Pritam Sharma, DySP Darshan Singh and Sarpanch Sanjeet Singh and Sarpanch Daleep Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Rumal Singh and Gulshan Singh were also present on the occasion.
The winner of the 1st bout was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 7000 along with traditional “Gurj” as well as “Patta”, while runner-up was given Rs 5000. The second bout was fought between Rajesh Sharma and Salman which ended in a draw and both of them were awarded with cash prize of Rs 8000. Third bout was won by Gopal Sharma by defeating Vijay.
The bouts were officiated by Vidhman Singh, Pritam Singh, Kamal Singh, Angrej Singh and Tulinder Kumar. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Joginder Singh, Ramesh Bhagat and Vidhman Singh. The chief guest also honoured a prominent social activist Kartar Singh.
