JAMMU, July 25: The Inter-School District Level Selection Trials for AAG Boys Taekwondo witnessed intense action on the second day at MA Stadium, here today. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the event serves as a key platform for young athletes to display their talent and secure spots in upcoming competitions.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of experienced officials including Atul Pangotra, Mukta Gupta, Sunil Abrol, Rajeev Kumar and several technical committees from the department.
The U-17 boys category saw participation from various reputed schools across the district. Among the winners were Ansh from Shishu Mandir, Shiv Sharma from Shiksha Niketan, Mohd Arhan from Sprawling World School, Lakshay and Dhruv Sharma from Delhi Public School, Ashutosh from Doon International School and Dhruv Mehra and Shivam Jamwal from Jammu Sanskriti School.
Other notable performers included Sivadath from BSF Paloura, Abhay Rana from Air Force School, and Arun Sharma from Dogra Higher Secondary School. The competition not only highlighted the growing interest in martial arts among students but also underscored the department’s commitment to nurturing grassroots sports talent. The trials continue to set a high standard as young athletes battle for excellence and recognition.
