Suryansh at his murderous best as KCCC faces NCC in SCA T20 finals

JAMMU, Sept 19: Opening batsman Suryansh Raina was at his butchering rather murderous best as he tore the rival bowlers with his explosive skills to help Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) drub Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) convincingly in the semifinals of the ongoing State Cricket Academy T20 Championship today, while National Cricket Club (NCC) registered resounding win over KC Sports Club to seal berth in the finals and meet KCCC in the title clash at MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
In today’s post match functions, Former Ranji Trophy Players, Ashwani Gupta, Sandeep Singh, Jagtar Singh and Rajesh Gill, Coordinator of the event presented the man of the match awards to the winners.
Sailing on power-packed 82 runs by Suryash Raina, KCCC defeated Jammu Cricket Club by 40 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first, KCCC scored 167 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Suryansh (82) was the top scorer, while Bandeep Singh and Shabum Khajuria contributed 39 and 20 runs respectively. Suryansh in particular was in awe-inspiring touch, hitting the ball with fluidity, grace, explosiveness and brilliance.
From JCC, Paras took 3 wickets, while Yudhveer Singh and Deepak Dogra claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, JCC managed to score 127 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 40 runs. Shabum Pundeer was the top scorer with 33 runs while Surya and Vishwajeet contributed 21 and 20 runs respectively.
From KCCC, skipper Manik Gupta was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets, while Bandeep Singh and Ankush took 2 wickets each and Akash claimed 1 wicket. For his magnificent innings, Suransh Raina was declared as the man of the match with cash prize of Rs 500.
Earlier in the first match, NCC defeated  KC Sports Club by 6 wickets.
Batting first, KC Sports Club scored 162 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Ateev Saini played a magnificent innings of 91 runs, while Abhishant Bakshi and Atul contributed 35 and 22 runs to the total respectively.
From NCC, Rakesh took 2 wickets while Tanmay and Sahil claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, NCC chased the target in 19.2 overs for the loss of 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Manish Dogra top scored with 64 runs, while Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 57 runs and Gokul Baru chipped in with 20 runs.
From KC Sports Club, Abhishant, Abid and Shubam claimed 1 wicket each. Manish Dogra was declared as the man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs 500.
The matches was officiated by Sudhir Singh, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Amit Gupta, Sadiq Hussain, and Sandeep, while famous commentator RP Singh conducted the proceedings of the post match functions.
