Rajouri, Aug 30: Sunderbani Premier League (SPL) 2025 Summer Edition was inaugurated today by Brigadier Jaidev Singh Aswal, Commander of Kalidhar Brigade. The event, supported by the Army, has become one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments in Rajouri and Akhnoor areas.
This year’s SPL marks its 5th edition, with more than 350 players from Sunderbani, Nowshera, Kalakote, Mogla, Peeri, Akhnoor and Beripattan registering. Out of these, 324 players were auctioned across 18 teams, each team having a budget of Rs 60,000. The tournament, featuring 18 teams divided into three pools. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the knockout stage.
The winners of SPL 2025 will receive Rs 1, 50,000, while the runners-up will get Rs 75,000. Previous champions include SSK, Byalsan Friends and reigning title holders BPS Blasters.
In the backdrop of the recent floods in Jammu, the Army’s support reflects resilience and community spirit, emphasizing the bond between the Indian Army and the people of the region.
