JAMMU, July 23: Sterlite Cricket Team defeated Media XI Cricket Club Jammu by two wickets in a thrilling T-20 summit at MA Stadium here today.
Bating first after winning the toss, Media XI Cricket Club suffered early blows and could recovered as the poor shot selection took toll on the Media XI batters and the whole team was bundled out on paltry 98 runs in 19 overs. Ranjeet with 21 runs remained the top scorer for Media XI, whereas Ashwani and Prince contributed 15 and 14 runs respectively to the total.
For Sterlite CC, Sushant clinched 3 wickets to remain the pick of the bowler, while Ashwani scalped 2 wickets.
In the second inning, Sterlite CC led by Harpal Singh in a conquest to register their first win against Media XI CC also had a shaky start as wickets kept on falling on regular interval but a quick fire 22 runs inning by Satpal brought them back into the game. Avinash scored 12 runs and Nitin’s 13 runs played the sheet anchor to guide Sterlite home in the 19th over of their inning.
For Media XI, Ranjeet Singh, Yash Khajuria and Rahul Khatri shared 2 wickets each in their four overs spells.
Kings, Unisex Salon & SPA, Gandhi Nagar was the organizer of this match. On the occasion, the Founder of Kings Unisex Salon & SPA, Sunny presented his signed ball to the Media XI CC.
Avinash of Sterlite was adjudged as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
