JAMMU, Nov 30: 5th State Level Painting Competition was organized by the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources (MOWR) for the student of Class 6th , 7th and 8th of various Schools, here today.
The competition invites children to paint a world of their own imagination, in reference to water conservation.
With the theme ” Save a Drop-Save the Future”, the event was organized at the Auditorium Hall of Indian Institute of Integrative Medicines formerly Regional Research Laboratory, Canal Road, here.
The competition started at 11 am and concluded at 1pm. The Jury of four members including the Head of Office, CGWB, NWHR selected the prize winning paintings for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places, besides 10 consolation prizes.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony for the successful participants of the competition was held today with R A Inqlabi, Director of Education was as the chief guest, while Dr Ram A Vishwakarma, Director RRL Jammu was the guest of honour.
The cash prizes of Rs 10000, Rs 8000 and Rs 5000 were given away to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners respectively. Also the cash prizes of Rs. 1000 each were distributed to the next 10 winners as consolation prizes.
The winners will have the opportunity to participate, in the National Level Painting Competition, to held in the National Capital in January 2015.
The first prize was won by Akash S Revankar of class 8th from Delhi Public School, Residency Road, Jammu and the second prize went to Aanya of class 8th from Shangrilla Public School Sarwal, Jammu and the third prizes was won by Dipanshu Guleria of Class 8th from Army Public School Janglot, Kathua.
The programme was coordinated by Dr R K Prasad, Scientist from Central Ground Water Board Jammu, while vote of thanks was presented by Dr Aneesh.
