JAMMU, Sept 15: Four events, Classical Vocal, Semi Classical Vocal, Painting and Cartooning were conducted on the second day of ongoing ‘Display Your Talent 2015-16’ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Director Internal Quality Assurance, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Pankaj K. Srivastava, Chairperson Campus Culture Committee, Prof. K.K. Sharma, Associate Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Anupama Vohra and various faculty members and office bearers of the University of Jammu were present during the events.
In Classical Vocal, 4 students participated in which Komal Chib from Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar stood first and Sonali Dogra from Govt. College for Women Parade was declared Second. Vijay Singh Sambyal and Prof. Kailash Mehra were the Judges for the event and Dr. Shashi Prabha was the Teacher In-Charge for the event
In Painting, 45 students participated. Sonia Digra from Govt. College for Women Parade stood first. Mohinika from Institute of Music and Fine Arts secured Second Position and Parshotma Sharma from The Law School JU and Sarneet Kaur shared the third Ppsition. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Diksha Andotra from Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua and Hemant Magotra from Department of Commerce, JU. Bhushan Kesar, Vijay Anand and Amit were the Judges for the event and Dr. Sanjay Sharma was the Teacher In-charge.
Five students participated in Semi-Classical event. Sonali Dogra from Govt. College for Women Parade was declared first. Vishakha Bhardwaj and Sushmita Banerjee from Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar were declared Second and Third respectively. Mr. Vijay Singh Sambyal, Sh Balbeer Chand Beera and Mr. Sami Feroz were the Judges and Dr. Yog Raj was the Teacher In-charge for the event.
22 students participated in Cartooning. Bharti Heer from The Law School, JU, Rahul Sharma from Govt. Degree College, Kathua. and Ishra Vaid from The Law School, JU were adjudged First, Second and Third respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Mehak Sharma from Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Radhika Gupta from GCET. Mr. Manoj Chopra, Chander Shakhar and Mr. Dheeraj Nanda were the judges and Dr. Jeevan Jyoti was the Teacher Incharge for the event.
Students, participants and other people in audience were seen cheering and enjoying the events. The events were coordinated by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer). Surbhi Chalotra, Hempreet Kaur, Sunakshi Sharma, Suneedhi Sharma, Puneet Kour, Tsering Chorol, Shahid Iqbal and Sahil Sharma, members of Students Culture Council, University of Jammu did the Hall Management. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur.
