JAMMU, June 1: A well-designed and well-equipped water park for young children of Jammu city was formally inaugurated by Raju Chowdhary, Chairman of KC Group of Industries at KC Sports Complex, here today. Many young parents along with their children were present on the occasion to let their tiny tots have the first experience of the place.
It is pertinent to mention here that KC Sports Club, an indoor-outdoor sports facility in Jammu, stands alone as the only world-class sports complex in north India and houses within its air-conditioned premises measuring nearly 60000 square feet a gym of international standards, an indoor swimming pool, a spacious and well-lit cricket hall, a 14000 sq ft multi-sports hall for all major games such as Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis and Football and 2 Squash Courts of International standard.
Mr Chowdhary stated that the water park with a view to recreating and educating younger children of the city is aptly named the ‘Soaking Kingdom’ since it intends to soak the children with both cool amusement and hands-on understanding of the dynamics of water and also develop their interest in aquatic games and sports.
He said it is also aimed as the first tiny step in response to Prime Minister Modi’s clarion call to promote intense sporting culture in India through ‘Khelo India’ and ‘Khelega Bharat to Khilega Bharat’ action-oriented programmes and mission statements.
After formal inauguration, the park was thrown open to the public.
The little children suitably dressed for water-related activities were seen splashing around merrily on the first day. The attractive ambience of the spacious water park with a vast variety of safe equipment installed in it made the children visibly happy.
The Park will remain operational throughout summer months.
