JAMMU, July 10: Stephens International Public School (SIPS) hosted the CBSE Cluster XVIII Kabaddi Tournament 2025 with immense enthusiasm and spirited participation.
The inaugural ceremony welcomed CBSE schools from Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, with nearly 250 student-athletes showcasing their passion for Kabaddi. The event was graced by notable dignitaries including Anuradha Gupta, Director General of Youth Services & Sports; Dr Narendra Singh Raina, MLA and National Secretary, BJP; and Chandeep Singh, renowned former International Paralympic champion.
Trustee Adv Kunal Saini formally welcomed the guests and participants, emphasizing the vital role of sports in shaping disciplined, resilient, and well-rounded individuals. He encouraged students to embrace sportsmanship, integrity, and unity in both sport and life.
Also present on the occasion were Dr Manjari Sehgal, Principal of SIPS; Shweta Bakshi, Vice Principal; Khushboo Shaminotra, Headmistress; and school coordinators, along with dedicated staff and students.
A ceremonial Mashaal was carried by the team captains, followed by the oath-taking ceremony, where players pledged to uphold fairness and integrity throughout the tournament.
Anuradha Gupta highlighted the importance of mental resilience and teamwork in Kabaddi, while Dr Sehgal expressed gratitude to all contributors for their support. The tournament will culminate on July 13, 2025, after several days of high-energy competition.
