Sikh Premier League begins at Poonch

POONCH, June 29: Sikh Premier League Cricket Tournament, being organised by Poonch Sikh Youth, got underway at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
The event was declared open by president DGPC, Narinder Singh as chief guest, while vice president of Pritam Spiritual Foundation, Rydhampreet Singh was guest of honour.
In all, 16 teams are taking part in this tournament. The opening match won by Fateh Club beating Pooch Singh Warriors. Batting first, Poonch Warriors made 105 runs for wickets in 10 overs, which, in reply, Fateh Club chased in the ninth over of the innings. Harjeet Singh was declared as the man of the match for his 18-ball 45 runs for the wining team.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the role of social organisations in shaping channelizing the energy of youth in right direction.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Parmjeet Singh, Kulvinder Singh, Arvinder Singh, Matinder Pal Singh, Amit Singh, Sarbjeet Singh and Balvinder Singh.
