JAMMU, Dec 15: Riding on a brilliant knock of 92 runs by opener Shubam Khajuria, Jammu and Kashmir scored 262 runs in their first innings of the ongoing Cooch Behar Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament in Gujarat, today.
Batting first, J&K scored 262 for all in 84.3 overs. Shubam missed a century by just eight runs, scoring 92 runs with the help of 12 fours and 2 sixes. Hisham Saleem contributed unbeaten 38 runs with 4 boundaries, while Paras Sharma scored 26 runs, studded with 5 boundaries. Opener Ahmed Banday contributed 15 runs to the total.
For Gujarat, Akshar Patel was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 wickets, while Sunny Patel and Hardik claimed 2 wickets each.
Gujarat, in reply, were 21/0 in 12 overs at stumps on day-1 today. Openers Jai Kishan Patel (7) and Jai Patel (6) were at the crease when stumps were drawn today.
J&K speedsters Omar bowled 5 overs for just 2 runs, while Rohit Sharma bowled and 4 overs for 6 runs.
