JAMMU, Dec 15: Kendriya Vidyalayas across Jammu region celebrated KVS Foundation Day cum Annual Sports Day with enthusiasm and zeal.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sunjwan celebrated KVS Foundation Day cum Annual Sports Day with pomp and show. Principal Tilak Raj Choudhary, presided over the function and while speaking highlighted the importance of the day. He inspired the students to excel in all fields and take the Vidyalaya and KVS to highest pinnacles of glory.
On the occasion, students presented songs, dances and skits. The annual sports meet was also held in which students participated in various activities.
TR Choudhary presented medals and certificates among the students who excelled in various games at different levels.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 celebrated KVS Foundation Day with pomp and show. On the occasion, students presented variety of cultural programmes including dance, group songs, skits, speeches, etc.
Principal of the school, M Laxmi Narayan apprised the students about the inception of KVS and its objectives. Principal said that main objective was to educate the children of the Indian Defence Services personnel, who are often posted to different places. At the end, Rita Bhaskar read out the message of Commissioner Avinash Dixit.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nagrota also celebrated KVS Foundation Day cum Annual Sports Day with great fervour and joy. On the occasion, Brigadier DS Tripathi, Station Commander, Artillery Brigade, HQ 16 Corps was the chief guest, while officers from HQ 16 Corps, officers from RO Jammu, Principals of local Vidyalayas, students and faculty members were also present.
Principal of the school RK Shukla presented the welcome address and threw light on the importance of the day.
On the occasion, various sports activities including frog jumps, 3 leg races, balloon race, etc were organised, in which students participated actively.
Amreik Singh, PET read out the annual report, while Bimla Pandita, Vice Principal of the school, presented vote of thanks.
Later, Brigadier DS Tripathi along with other dignitaries presented medals and certificates among the winners and participants.
The whole programme was coordinated by Veena Verma and Shymala Khajuria.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Udhampur celebrated KVS Foundation Day today. On this occasion the officiating Head Mistress Usha Koul delivered speech on the growth of Kendriya Vidyalaya and the mushrooming importance of the school. Vikramaditya read out the message of Commissioner KVS, Avinash Dixit.
Vikramaditya, Lakhbir Singh, Sanjay Kohli, Kripal Singh, Raman Kumar, Usha Koul and Navjeet Kaur were conferred with school honour. Manuscript magazines created by the students were released in the primary wing.
The students of the Vidyalaya presented a spectacular cultural programme and mesmerized the audience with their commendable performances.
Principal of the school Dr Rameshwar Prasad said that fame of Kendriya Vidyalaya will further be augmented by the students, teachers and every atom cling to this greatest sangathan.
Later vote of thanks was presented by Sanjay Purohit, PGT Hindi.
To make an aura of joy and celebration, friendly matches were conducted between students and teachers.
