Secretariat Blue to lock horns with Green in finals summit

JAMMU, Jan 20: Secretariat Blue will lock horns with Secretariat Green in finals summit of Civil Secretariat Cricket Tournament, on January 23 being played here at Forest Ground Sidhra .
In the first semi-final match which was played between Officers XI and Team Secretariat Blue wherein later defeated former by eight wickets. For Team Blue, Naveed and Danish played match winning innings scoring 59 and 58 runs respectively while Secretariat Blue’s Aijaz Dar took three wickets.
Batting first, the Officers XI set a target of 167 runs for opponent team. Majid managed to score 49 runs while Sami chipped in with 39 runs.
In the second semi-finals match which was played between Team Secretariat Green and Team Information Department. The former won the match by 30 runs. Batting first, Team Green scored 161 runs in stipulated 20 overs with Mohsin scoring highest score of 48 runs. For Team Information Department, Yasir Ashraf was the most successful bowler who took three wickets.
In reply, Team Information was bundled out at 130 runs with opening batsmen Showkat Nazir and Naman Bharadwaj scoring 47 and 35 runs respectively.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Team Information Department was playing its maiden tournament and had cruised into semis.
The tournament is being organized by Gayoor Iqbal under the chairmanship of Rouf Ahmad Bhat, president Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union.
