JAMMU, May 20: The 2nd edition of Annual MUN (Model United Nations) Conference hosted by KC Public School began at KC Sports Club Multi-sports Hall, here today.
110 delegates from various schools of Jammu are taking part in this edition of the Conference.
The delegates attending the Conference are either representing their respective schools or attending it individually.
MUN has turned into a potent source of learning among the youth of the world today that not only connects them to the real-life political, economic and cultural problems of the world but also instils in them qualities of leadership and problem -solving skills.
The Conference was inaugurated by Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of Central University Jammu.
In his address to the delegates, Prof Aima laid stress on the relevance and usefulness of co-circular activities as an essential component of modern-day education.
He also wished the delegates great success in their deliberations over various global issues due to be discussed during the 3 days long conference.
The chief guest was accompanied by Raju Chowdhary, Chairman of KC Educational Society, Arti Choudhary, Managing Director of K C Public School, Arjun Chowdhary, Managing Director of KC Sports Club, AK Mishra, Principal of KC Public School, Prof Ganai, Principal of KC Law College and Prof Tikoo, Principal of KC College of Education.
Sahar Rohmetra, the pioneering initiator of the maiden KC MUN in 2018 and ex School Head Girl and Akshita Mengi were also present at the function as the guests of honour.
The Conference is totally student led and is being organised by 13 KCPS students with Sparsh Bhat as Secretary General, Avril Attri as the President, Ayush Sharma as Director General and Soham Amla as Organising Head.
