JAMMU, Nov 16: Young talents Satvik Nischal and Syrah Dewan emerged victorious in the Under-11 categories at a thrilling table tennis tournament held recently.
Satvik claimed his first ranking title in a closely contested Under-11 boys final against Akshaj Garg, clinching the deciding game by 11-9 to secure a 3-2 victory. In the Under-11 girls final, Syrah displayed dominant form, defeating Ira by 3-0, continuing her impressive run through tournaments this year.
In the Under-13 boys category, Saiyam Nischal and Advik Garg advanced to the quarterfinals with straight-set victories, showcasing their growing prowess. Other notable matches included Syrah defeating Bhavin by 3-0 and Alena overcoming Ridhimi by 3-0 in the Under-13 girls semifinals. In men’s singles, Nitin, Shivansh, Madhav, Aditya and Laksh Dev won their respective first-round matches.
Prominent personalities witnessing the event included Ajay Sharma, Sheetal Gandotra, Satbir Singh, Maninder Singh, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh and Meenu Rajesh.
