Sahara Educational Trust donates magnifiers to partially blind students

JAMMU, Dec 30: Sahara Educational Trust, an NGO working for providing education to underprivileged, donated aspheric magnifiers to partially blind students of Louis Braillie Residential School for Sightless Girls, Roop Nagar, here.
Monica Kalsotra, Trustee said that the trust works for providing aid to underprivileged children to help them attain education. The trust launched a project ‘ROSHNI’ which is an initiative to help visually challenged students. She said that inclusive education must also be promoted along with free education. Blind students must be admitted to regular school to ensure their holistic, mental & psychological development.
Rajat Kalsotra, Member said that government and civil society should help these needy students.
He said the school has certain requirements like daily essentials, toiletries, dry food, mops, wipers, grooming products, etc and other people should donate as well.
Imitiaz Ahmed, Chairman of Trust, said that they will continue to undertake such projects in the future and requested civil society to participate in such activities.
Other members who were present included Manik, Aditya, Abhimanyu, Arush and Mridul.
