JAMMU, June 11: The refresher course for the officials in various sports disciplines being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) got underway at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today.
The fortnight-long course in which around 80 officials (PETs and PEMs, PELs) drawn from various districts of J&K are taking part, was formally inaugurated by the incoming Director General Youth Services and Sports, Anuradha Gupta and outgoing Director General YSS, Rajinder Singh Tara, who were accompanied by Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports (Central), Jitender Mishra and the officials from the Activity Section of the Directorate.
The sports disciplines in which the officials are being trained include Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Thang-ta.
The Department has named 10 trained and expert officials as Resource Persons in the course and has nominated Altaf Hussain, Departmental Vigilance Officer and Warden Youth Hostel Nagrota as Incharge of the Camp.
The DG Sports served strict directions to the concerned officers and officials to make online portal for keeping the record of meritorious athletes and trained officials to yield better results.
