28th Annual Football C’ship

SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Three quarter-final matches were played today of the ongoing 28th Annual Football Championship 2020-21 at TRC Turf Ground, here today.
The first match was played between Real Kashmir FC (R) and Arco FC. The match seemed to be one side affair in which Real Kashmir FC defeated Arco FC by 5-0 goals. It was 2nd victory for Real Kashmir FC in this tournament.
The second match was played between DFA Srinagar and Lonestar KFC. Both the teams displayed their extraordinary games during the match. It was in the 20th minute of 1st half when DFA Srinagar took a lead through Izhan and doubled it by a mistake by Lonestar Goalkeeper. Shrawn Bhat from Lonestar KFC scored two magnificent goals in 40th & 44th minutes of the 1st half of the game.
In 2nd half the match was dominated by Lonestar KFC in which two more goals were secured by Deepak and Mohit, followed by another goal by Zubair Ahmad. The match ended with Lonestar KFC defeated DFA Srinagar XI by 5-2 goals.
The 3rd match was played between J&K Bank XI & Novelty FC. Both the teams started with an aggressive note but it was the J&K Bank XI who dominated the field and defeated Novelty FC by 7-0 goals.
Nuzhat Gul Secretary J&K Sports Council introduced the teams and interacted with the players.
In her address, she stressed upon the sports persons to work hard for the overall promotion of sports in the UT. She assured them full logistic support for the promotion and development of sports in J&K.
The championship is being organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
