SIMBAL, Dec 27: Ravi scored fabulous unbeaten 90 runs to help Dashmesh Cricket Club Gadigarh defeat Khalsa Cricket Club, Gole Gujral by 5 wickets and enter the semifinals of the ongoing Mahant Bachittar Singh Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Simbal Welfare Association at High School ground, here.
Batting first, Khalsa Club scored 133 runs in 19.2 overs. Vivek and Lakhan scored 30 and 27 runs respectively, while Bhavneet and Dutta chipped in with 14 runs each. For Dashmesh Club, Bunty, Tinku and Panku shared 2 wickets each, while Udhay and Ravi claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Dashmesh Club chased the target in 17 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Ravi played a brilliant innings of 90 runs, studded with 7 boundaries and 5 sixes, while Raman contributed 12 runs to the winning cause. For Khalsa Club, Sonu took 2 wickets, while Bhavneet, Akshay and Manu shared 1 wicket apiece. Ravi was adjudged man of the match for his extraordinary batting display.
The match was officiated by Kulbir Singh Kali and Sabu as umpires, while Mantoo was the scorer.
Tejinder Singh, president Simbal Camp Matador Union was the chief guest in today’s match.
