JAMMU, Nov 16: Beating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, Ragni and Iknoor have made it to Under-12 Cadet Girls finals, while the first round matches witnessed some nail-biting encounters amongst the young paddlers in the cadet boys and girls categories in the ongoing 38th Stag J&K State Table Tennis Championship 2016, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Table Tennis Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
In Cadet Girls semifinals, Iknoor defeated Divanshi (2-0) and Ragni got better of Jhanvi (2-0), while in Under-12 Cadet Boys quarterfinals, Akhilesh beat Kanwarjot by 2-0, Rohan Langar defeated Pratham by 2-0, Karmanya outplayed Ragdeep Singh by 2-0 and Tejas drubbed Aarit by 2-1.
Earlier, in Sub Junior Boys first round, Pranay got better of Aashish by 2-1, Shivam defeated Abhijay by 2-1, Aarit trounced Akshit by 2-1, Harshit Rometra outclassed Pratham by 2-1, Sudhikshan prevailed over Pranav Chibber by 2-1 and Pragun trounced Ceyl by 2-0.
Prominent among others who witnessed the matches included Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Vasu Dewan, Anil Dutta, Gurvinder Singh Sasan, Sandeep Khadotra, Shorya Sharmas, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra and Sanjeev Gupta.
Ashok Singh, Manager MA Stadium and Narinder Singh were also present.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Khadotra (NIS Table Tennis coach) and Meenu Rajesh.
