JAMMU, Oct 28: The 42nd Ban-Malapur Kesari Vishal Dangal was organized by Ban-Malapur Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at village Ban Malapur in Block Bhalwal.
In the competition, organized by Sarpanch Babishan Singh and Shiv Kumar Sharma, President, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, 82 bouts were played wherein top renowned wrestlers from Punjab, Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana and J&K participated.
On the occasion, Former Minister Sham Lal was the chief guest who inaugurated the competition and also gave away cash prizes to the winner and runner-up wrestlers in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, who presided over the function. Ex-Minister Mula Ram and Ex-MLA Thakur Balwan Singh were the guests of honour. Social activist and wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma, Naresh Kumar, Gurpreet Singh, Sarpanches Raj Dev Singh and Rehmat Ali, JE Surinder Kumar, Wrestler Balkar Singh, Om Parkash Verma, Bittu Raina, Sat Paul, Man Mohan Singh, Sarpanches namely Kuldeep Raj, Mumtaz, Narinder Singh, Sandeep Singh, Amar Nath and Dalbir Singh were also present.
The first main bout was fought between Roublejit, National Silver Medalist 2016 of Khanna, Punjab and Birju of Delhi. The bout was won by Roublejit in 6 minutes and he was awarded with bullet motorcycle by chief guest Sham Lal Sharma, Mula Ram, Thakur Balwan Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Babishan Singh while runner-up wrestler Birju was awarded with cash prize of Rs 50,000.
Meanwhile, Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla defeated Mohanu of Delhi, Rakesh of UP thrashed Benia Min of J&K Police, Farooq of Sarore crushed Bagga of Amritsar and Sunil of Chandigarh defeated Mohammad Ishaq of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu. The bouts played between Kaka of RS Pura and Baba of Amritsar, Sukhchain of Khanna and Kalu of Bishnah and Babba of Kot Bhawal and Ajay Sharma of Udhampur ended in draw.
The members and technical officials who helped for smooth conduct of this one day wrestling event included Sarpanch Babishan Singh, Angrej Singh, Yov Raj, Nitu Verma, Balkar Singh, Naresh Kumar, Mohammad Fareed, Prem Kumar Master, Om Parkash Sharma, Mulk Raj Sharma, Kulbir, Ravinder Singh and Murli Dhar.
